Atlanta's fall tech calendar is filling up fast.
September and October bring a run of conferences and community gatherings across cybersecurity, AI, software development, innovation, and the broader technology ecosystem. For GRC Engineering practitioners, that makes this a good season to get outside our usual lanes, meet the people building the systems we help govern, and bring new ideas back into our own work.
Around the Atlanta chapter, we call these opportunities PULL UP events: gatherings we do not host, but where our community should know there is something worth showing up for.
Here are a few already on the Assure the A Events calendar.
The 404 Summit · September 21–23
Blacks In Technology Atlanta is bringing the local tech community to Microsoft Atlanta for three days of workshops, panels, a Microsoft hackathon, career-focused studio time, and community connection.
The mix matters. GRC does not operate in isolation, and events that put engineers, builders, security practitioners, and technology professionals in the same space are opportunities to understand how the work is changing before a new control requirement lands on your desk.
BSides Atlanta · October 3
BSides Atlanta returns to the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center for a full day of community-led security learning.
Security conferences remain one of the best places for GRC practitioners to stay close to the technical side of the field. Listen for what defenders are struggling with, what researchers are finding, what engineers are deploying, and where governance may need to catch up.
Avant South · October 12–13
Tech Square hosts Atlanta's annual technology and innovation conference with a 2026 theme of AI in Action.
The program looks at AI through industries Atlanta knows well, including logistics, fintech, healthcare, and media. For anyone working in AI governance, risk, privacy, security, or compliance, that cross-industry perspective is especially useful. Good governance starts with understanding how technology is actually being used.
Google DevFest Atlanta · October 30–31
The season closes strong with Google DevFest Atlanta at the Google Atlanta Office in Midtown. GDG Atlanta is bringing developers and builders together for two days focused on Google technologies, hands-on learning, and building, securing, and scaling in the agentic era.
That last piece should sound familiar to GRC Engineers. As AI systems become more agentic, questions around identity, permissions, evidence, monitoring, security, and accountability increasingly become engineering problems too.
Don't just watch the calendar. Pull up.
The Atlanta chapter exists to strengthen the connection between GRC and the people building and securing technology. Conferences like these give us another place to make that connection real.
Pick a session outside your specialty. Meet a builder. Ask a technical question. Share what you know about risk. Come back with an idea we can test together.
