A good community event needs more than a calendar invite.
For the Atlanta chapter, sponsorship can help us create the kind of room where practitioners can meet, learn, build, and leave with something useful. That might mean helping cover a venue, putting food on the table, or providing resources for a hands-on training or build session.
We are looking for organizations that want to help us do more of that in Atlanta.
What Sponsorship Could Look Like
Imagine an Atlanta chapter build night. A local company provides a room where we can work together. Another sponsor covers pizza and drinks. A technology partner provides temporary access to a tool, cloud credits, lab resources, or another resource we can use during the session.
Those contributions let the chapter focus on the experience: bringing practitioners together and giving them something useful to learn or build.
Sponsorship does not have to be complicated, and it does not always have to involve sending money.
In-Kind Support Is the Simplest Path
One of the easiest ways to support a chapter event is directly.
If your organization has a meeting room we can use, you can provide the room. If you want to help with dinner, you can buy the food. If you have resources that would make a training session better, we can talk about how those might fit.
The Club charter specifically recognizes in-kind support as the easy path because the sponsor can book the room or purchase the food directly. There is no chapter payment account or money for a volunteer leader to handle.
A quick heads up to the Club is still part of the process, but the mechanics stay simple.
Why Sponsorship Goes Through the Global Club
The Atlanta chapter does not maintain its own bank account, PayPal, Stripe, Venmo, or other payment account. Sponsorship agreements are made with GRC Eng Club, Inc., and sponsors making a financial contribution pay the Club by invoice.
That structure gives sponsorships transparency and oversight. Chapter volunteers do not personally receive sponsor funds, sign sponsorship agreements, or make financial commitments on behalf of the Club.
It also keeps local sponsorship local. When sponsorship money is given for the Atlanta chapter, the Club spends that money on the Atlanta chapter.
That gives sponsors a clear path for supporting the local community while letting the global Club handle the financial and administrative responsibilities behind it.
Help Us Build February in Atlanta
We already have our next big opportunity on the calendar.
Save Thursday, February 11, 2027.
GRC Engineering Club founder AJ Yawn will be visiting Atlanta as part of the Home Turf US Tour, and we are planning our first in-person Atlanta chapter meeting of the year for 6:00 PM.
The venue is still being worked out, which also means this is a great time for potential sponsors to get involved.
We are soliciting sponsorship now to help make the visit impactful. Venue support, food, and resources that can help us create a useful learning or building experience are all examples of ways an organization could contribute.
If your organization has been looking for a practical way to support Atlanta's GRC community, this is one.

If what you have in mind is simpler, such as offering a venue, buying food directly, providing swag, or supporting a training activity, in-kind support may be the easiest place to start.
The goal is simple: give Atlanta's GRC practitioners better opportunities to meet, learn, build, and help each other grow.
